I’m not sure we’ve ever had an offseason as long as this last offseason.

That’s of course not true literally. There have been entire missed seasons, and pandemic-shortened seasons, and seasons where Utah didn’t qualify for bowl games. But emotionally, this offseason felt significantly longer than even those. 

This week kicks off the start of a new era of Utah Football, the news of which you couldn’t possibly have avoided over the past year, and the ongoing discussion, speculation, and subjugation of which very nearly made me want to give up on college football forever. The old college football is dead, and from the sea where it was drowned a new, unfamiliar college football emerged.
